About justhtml.dev
What this place is
justhtml.dev is a community showcase for developers who build with Vanilla HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. No npm. No React. No JavaScript build pipeline. Just the actual web platform, used directly.
You can submit your projects, browse what others have built, and leave feedback. That's it. Simple by design.
Why it exists
A new kind of developer has emerged — the vibe coder. They use AI tools like Claude Code or Copilot to build real things fast. But by default, AI assistants often reach for React, Next.js, or Vite because that's what fills the training data. The result: beginners who've never touched a terminal end up with node_modules folders bigger than their projects.
We think that's backwards. The web platform — HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — is extraordinarily capable on its own. You don't need to install a framework to make a good website. You need a server, some files, and a browser.
What "AI-assisted" means here
We use AI tools ourselves — Claude Code writes a significant amount of this site's codebase. The difference is in the instructions. When you tell Claude Code "no npm, no React, build it with vanilla HTML and a real backend," it does exactly that. The stack choice belongs to you. AI is just the hands.
Who it's for
- Vibe coders who want to migrate off the framework treadmill
- Experienced developers who prefer the platform over the ecosystem
- Anyone who's ever thought "do I really need React for this?"
Who built it
justhtml.dev is built and maintained by Coder B Dev, Inc. — a small software studio that builds opinionated web products. The site itself is written in C# .NET with a custom string-replacement template engine. No JavaScript frameworks. Obviously.
